The "Smart Corridor" project, the first of its kind in the world, is based on utilizing artificial intelligence technologies to facilitate and accelerate the process. The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, represented by the Department of Future Ports, the Airports Sector, won first place in the International Business and Leadership Excellence Awards in the category of government services. utilizing smart gates to pass through immigration at Dubai International Airport without having to present any identification, such as a passport, identity card, or boarding pass.

In the "Oceanic Khorfakkan" race, which was overseen by the Emirates Triathlon Association, the Dubai residency took the lead among the teams. The Dubai residence took the top three spots in the Iron Man Championship, which featured elite world champions and is regarded as one of the most significant sporting events on a global scale. The Institutional Support Sector/Department of Corporate Communication, representing the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, won the Emirates Ideas Award in the National Identity category for the "Good Morning, Homeland" initiative. This initiative is part of the administration's desire to launch notable and developmental initiatives and foster a culture of creativity and innovation to enhance patriotism and twinning. In addition, since it was the first government agency to post videos of its employees on its Instagram channel, this initiative also included staff from other agencies throughout the year (GDRFA Dubai).

Regional Awards [2017] |
The award for the best joint Arab idea for the next-generation port project (NGE-NGA-NGB), which enables entry and exit procedures to be completed in less than 10 seconds, was given to the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, represented by the Airports Sector.
The category for entry and residence permits also took home the prize for the best product concept for the GCC nationals' visa project.

The Positive Energy Department, representing the General Directorate of Identity and Foreign Affairs in Dubai, received several honours from the American Ideas Award:
Brigadier General Abdul Samad Hussein Suleiman, Assistant Director for Quality and Excellence Affairs, won the Best Resident Award in 2017 along with Major Salem bin Ali, Director of the Amer Department.
