The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the UAE Journalists Association aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two parties in the fields of media training and human resources development. This partnership supports institutional relations and promotes the exchange of expertise and experiences.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, and Ms. Fadila Al Maaini, Chairperson of the UAE Journalists Association, during the Gitex Global 2024 event. This agreement reflects the shared commitment of both parties to investing in and developing human resources through specialized training programs that contribute to sustainable development, fostering creativity and innovation in media and administrative work.
His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri highlighted the importance of this agreement, stating: "The partnership with the UAE Journalists Association is a significant step towards greater integration between media and government work, through the exchange of expertise and the development of skills for our media and administrative staff. We believe that effective media training enhances communication with the public and highlights the vital role the Directorate plays in serving the community."
For her part, Ms. Fadila Al Maaini, Chairperson of the UAE Journalists Association, noted that the agreement strengthens the association's efforts to support the media sector and provide qualitative consultations that contribute to advancing journalism and enhancing local media content. She added that the collaboration with GDRFA Dubai will help deliver outstanding training programs and expand the horizons of joint work between the two entities.
The MoU includes a range of collaborative efforts, such as GDRFA Dubai hosting media events organized by the UAE Journalists Association, and involving the association in awareness campaigns related to entry and residency regulations in the UAE. The agreement also covers the organization of media training courses for GDRFA Dubai's official spokespersons, as well as workshops on social media management and the preparation of news and media content.
This partnership is expected to significantly enhance cooperation between the two parties, positively impacting the development of both media and administrative staff and raising public awareness about various issues related to residency and foreign affairs.
