“GDRFA Dubai” Signs a Memorandum of Understanding with National Industries Complex and Jafza to Enh
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and the National Industries Complex, in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Abdullah Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World in the GCC.
The memorandum aims to strengthen cooperation in multiple areas related to the protection of labor rights and the improvement of the work environment, including the adoption of best practices related to unified labor contracts and wage protection systems, in addition to systems concerning labor health insurance and entitlements insurance.
The agreement includes leveraging innovative electronic systems to improve the efficiency and management of wage protection systems, and to enhance services offered to all stakeholders in this sector. It is expected that this memorandum will strengthen the sector of labor relations, ensuring both parties' adherence to international standards and best practices, benefiting both workers and employers alike.
H.E. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, affirmed that the memorandum with the National Industries Complex management reflects a continuous commitment to enhancing the work environment and ensuring labor rights through the adoption of global best practices and innovative systems that improve operational efficiency. He also indicated that this agreement supports the administration’s commitment to providing comprehensive and integrated services to both employers and workers, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in labor relations and rights protection.
He further added that this partnership is part of the General Directorate’s efforts to expand its base of partners who contribute to advancing the work environment and improving performance quality and efficiency. The agreement will bring mutual benefits, including access to the best practices in unified labor contracts and wage protection systems, improving the efficiency of operations management, and facilitating the handling of challenges faced by employers and workers.
For his part, Abdullah Bin Damithan emphasized Jafza and the National Industries Complex's commitment to collaborating with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai to achieve the memorandum’s objectives. He noted that the exchange of expertise and knowledge and the adoption of advanced technology will support joint efforts to protect labor rights and improve the work environment. He confirmed that this agreement builds on Jafza and the National Industries Complex’s record of outstanding achievements in supporting employees and enhancing work environments.
Through this agreement, both parties aim to improve the services provided to workers and employers, enhance transparency and efficiency, and promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise to improve policies and procedures related to labor relations.
