GDRFA DUBAI organizes a distinguished celebration marking one year since the launch of the children'
The GDRFA organized a special celebration marking the first anniversary of launching the unique children's passport stamping counter, the first of its kind worldwide. The event aimed to provide a distinctive and safe experience for young travellers, allowing them the opportunity to stamp their own passports. Since its inception on April 19, 2023, the number of children who have used the passport stamping counters has reached 565,661.
The event saw the participation of various government entities, along with beloved cartoon characters like "Salim and Salama," as well as Expo 2020 Dubai characters Rashid and Latifa, all adored by children. Traveling children arriving in Dubai, along with those who had previously experienced the passport stamping counters, were also part of the festivities.
In this regard, General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA in Dubai, praised the efforts to enhance travellers' experience, emphasizing Dubai's commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable environment, especially for children, who represent the future generation. He expressed pride in the passport stamping counter's one-year anniversary, considering it a landmark achievement that sets Dubai airports apart globally.
Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shanqiti, Assistant Director-General for Airports Affairs, expressed his happiness at the one-year anniversary of the children's passport stamping counters at Dubai airports, commending all partners, especially Dubai Airports, for their consistent support of GDRFA initiatives. He highlighted the efforts to provide a quality travel experience and proactive services, positioning Dubai airports at the forefront globally.
GDRFA launched dedicated passport stamping counters for children aged 4 to 12 in the arrivals hall of three buildings last Eid al-Fitr. Since their inception on April 19, 2023, until the end of last year, 434,889 children have used these counters, enabling them to stamp their passports themselves under the supervision of specialized officers and experts in dealing with children. This passport stamping counter provides an unprecedented experience for children, enhancing their confidence and enriching their travel experience, further solidifying Dubai's position and its airports as one of the best in the world.
