Hatta Land Border welcomes a high-level delegation from the Thai Immigration Office
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Thai Immigration Office, as part of an official visit to the Hatta Land Border, which is the first border crossing to be visited after obtaining the International Star Rating System, making it the first land border in the country to achieve this global distinction.
The Thai delegation was warmly received by the border management, where a detailed tour was organized for the delegation to learn about the best practices and technologies implemented at the Hatta Land Border. During the tour, several presentations and detailed explanations were provided regarding the application of the latest technologies and practices in border management.
General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA, emphasized the importance of this visit and the exchange of experiences with brotherly and friendly countries, noting that such exchanges contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, improving government performance, and enhancing the quality of services provided to travellers and cargo. He praised the fruitful cooperation between the UAE and Thailand in the fields of economy, commerce, and transportation, expressing the UAE's readiness to provide support, assistance, and cooperation in exchanging experiences and transferring Emirati expertise in various key sectors.
In turn, Lieutenant Colonel Sucharn Neemsariyapon, Inspector of the Thai Immigration Investigation Branch, expressed his gratitude to GDRFA and the Hatta Land Border management for their hospitality and warm welcome, commending the results of the visit and its role in familiarizing the delegation with the best practices followed at the border. He also praised the initiatives launched by the border management to ensure the happiness of travellers and provide them with a rich and enjoyable travel experience.
The visiting delegation included several Thai officials and personalities, including Lieutenant Colonel Sucharn Neemsariyapon, Inspector of the Thai Immigration Investigation Branch, Taraban Dechakason, Sub-Inspector of the Investigation and Immigration Branch, Foripong Promsri, Commander of the Division in the Investigation and Crime Suppression Department, accompanied by Kittisak Payakkul, and Natsanan Ketsantis, and Wethepong Teepapal.
The visiting delegation toured the facilities of the Hatta Land Border and learned about the best practices followed by the border management and its human resources in receiving incoming and outgoing travellers. They also received a detailed explanation about the methods used in border management and the mechanisms adopted by human resources to provide the highest service standards through prompt response and accomplishment.
The International Star Rating System is the latest technology in logistics and international trade management, allowing land, sea, and air borders to interact smoothly and efficiently. It enables automatic and instant information exchange between borders, facilitating travel, shipping, inspection, and customs clearance operations, thus enhancing efficiency and performance speed, and consolidating Dubai's position as a centre for innovation and technological advancement.
