Dubai's GDRFA Launches 'Wesal-EAP' for Employee Mental Health and Well-being
The Department of Health Care of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has launched the Wesal-Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to provide psychological and moral support to the department's staff.
The programme seeks to educate employees about the significance of mental health and foster a joyful, positive, and productive work environment. Additionally, it aims to establish equilibrium in the psychological, mental, and physical well-being of the employees.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Mental and Moral Health Branch of GDRFA and a specialised care center. Together, they offer psychological support services to the employees of GDRFA and their immediate family members who wish to engage in the counselling sessions.
Furthermore, the Mental and Moral Health Branch conducts field trips and workshops, complemented by the distribution of informative pamphlets addressing the importance of mental health and self-care. The programme also strives to strike a balance between an employee's daily life and their work responsibilities.
The psychological support programmes and sessions are specifically tailored to address instances where employees may experience feelings of anxiety or stress, which can potentially impact their performance at work or their family life. In such situations, individuals are encouraged to seek counselling, psychological treatment, and support for themselves and their immediate family members.
